Our special events bring families together for seasonal celebrations, educational workshops, and community gatherings. From holiday parties to guest speakers and hands-on activities, these occasions create memorable experiences and strengthen the bonds within our homeschool community.
Our homeschool community came together to build a dazzling float for the 2025 Polar Express Electric Light Parade! Families collaborated on design, construction, and decoration, transforming their creativity into a glowing spectacle. Students and parents proudly rode through downtown, waving to the crowds and celebrating the holiday season as part of this beloved Carlsbad tradition.
Our students partnered with the Children, Youth and Families Department to box Thanksgiving meals for families in need. Working together, kids learned about community service and food insecurity while packaging meals that brought holiday warmth to local foster families. This hands-on volunteer experience taught compassion, teamwork, and the importance of giving back to our community.
Miss Charlotte from Southwest Dairy Farmers brought the farm to us with her mobile dairy classroom! Students learned about dairy farming, met a real calf, and discovered where their milk comes from. This hands-on agricultural experience connected kids to local farming while teaching them about animal care, nutrition, and the journey from farm to table.
Our students showcased their vocabulary skills and courage at our community spelling bee! Participants studied word lists, practiced pronunciation, and stepped up to the microphone to compete in a supportive, encouraging environment. Whether advancing through multiple rounds or cheering on their peers, students experienced the challenge of friendly competition while celebrating a love of language and learning.
We try to create opportunities that match or exceed a traditional school experience. One of those ways is through our holiday parties. We've done different things throughout the years, but in the Fall of 2025 we hosted a Halloween Dance.
For our President's Pageant, the students could dress up as a president or first lady, give a brief report on who they were without telling us who they were. The parents then had to figure out which first lady/president they were. The parent who got the most right won a prize.
