Frequently Asked Questions

• Southeast New Mexico Homeschool Hub is a legal nonprofit.

• President of the nonprofit is Taylor Storm.

• We currently have branches in both Eddy and Lea Counties.

• Director of Eddy County is Taylor Storm.

• Director of Lea County is Gabby Fiedler. 

• Our organization facilitates events such as labs, guest speakers, demonstrations, social opportunities, or other enrichment events for students whose education is done at home. 

• Anyone can volunteer for the organization, whether it's something small like creating materials or leading a single large-group activity. You may also create a class or small group under the Hub's umbrella and have it covered by its insurance or funds. If you have an idea for a field trip or presentation, you may also set it up and work with your director to schedule it. 

• There are no fees this year to participate due to last year’s fundraising; some individual activities may have a cost involved, which will always be described in registration. Please remember this during fundraising time!

• We offer transitional support for families new to the homeschooling world. 

• You will register each month for individual activities, Al la carte style. There are some exceptions for weekly classes where you will sign up for an entire semester at a time.

• We meet Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays each week.

• There is a lending library for our Eddy County participants filled with hands-on enrichment activities that you can take home to borrow for 2 weeks at a time. 

• We are NOT a drop-off program. You must be physically and mentally present at all of our activities. There are a few exceptions that will always be made apparent in registration.

• Siblings are expected, though there is no nursery at this time. Entertaining younger siblings is the parents' responsibility.

• We are a cooperative organization, therefore parent participation is required. Parent participation may look like being available when needed, intervening when your child is talking out of turn, or helping your child with the activity that is presented.
